Episodes of extreme cold and wind can occur with wind chill values below −5 °F (−21 °C). The average seasonal (November-April) snowfall total is 18 to 24 inches (46 to 61 cm), and the average snowiest month is February which corresponds with the annual peak in nor’easter activity.
